Introducing to you: Remco Engels, drums
We are pleased to announce that Mangrove has got a new drummer: Remco Engels. He was already rehearsing with us but this was based on the upcoming concerts. But now we are happy to have him on board on a permanent basis. After rehearsing for a while with him we can confidently say that he will definitely enrich the Mangrove sound with his own distinctive drum sound and style based on his experience for many years in many bands.

Remco Engels: “I am honoured to play with this fantastic band. It’s great to contribute to the ‘Mangrove sound’. Their latest cd is very impressive and it’s fantastic to perform this one now live with the band. The best thing of it all is that the band is very adventurous, continuously looking for new progressive rock ground. It will be a wonderful adventure!”
Roland van der Horst: “I am very impressed by Remco’s way of playing the drums with many dynamics and subtility if necessary. His qualities can be heard already now hearing him performing the Mangrove songs live. Besides a great drummer Remco is also a songwriter and I am very confident that he will contribute to Mangrove with fresh and new ideas. We are looking forward in hitting the stages with Remco and of course working on the next Mangrove studio album!”
“They arrange a bus for their fans…”
Did you ever thought about the idea how it would be to travel by a bus full of like-minded progrock fans to a great live progrock concert? And listening to great progrock in the bus of course, and chatting with your prog friends about that great new album you bought last week… And after Mangrove’s first full headliner show in ‘De Boerderij’ and even a few drinks travelling back comfortably by bus to your hometown (or nearby). Well, Mangrove is joyful thinking about this idea and we know for sure that you can together with us make the 20th November 2010 to an unforgettable night to remember! Just drop us an e-mail at info@mangrovemusic.nl (or via the contact form below) to let us know if you like the idea (no obligations, just to investigate if you’re in for it!). We can then inform you when the idea is progressing into a concrete arrangement…
See you on the bus!! Roland, Chris, Pieter, Remco.

“I’m always searching to develop the ultimate sound that fits with the music. It’s like a journey into to centre of sound. A challenge, but I like it!”
Beyond imagination…
THANK YOU very much to all who came to see Mangrove in a totally different role: the acoustic one. We very much enjoyed playing the acoustic show “More or Less…” and it was great to see and hear you did too! Great to get this incredible response from a packed venue. It was such a amazing new feeling to bring our music in this perfect ambience of a theatre. This was so unique, and intense… This is definitely a highlight in Mangrove’s career! THANKS!
